Strategic Plan

MMC is looking towards the future with its latest strategic plan, with plans to help increase rural/remote community awareness of HIV prevention, treatment literacy information, poverty reduction, advocacy, care and support income and secure enhanced livelihoods through income generating projects, education school fees, nutritional support and care and support to vulnerable children affected/infected with AIDS living in rural/remote communities of Western, Zambia.

The strategic plan provides the guidance for the MMC structures work for the five years. Annual operational plans and budgets will be developed annually and these annual plans and will target at different donors. It is from these plans that resource mobilization strategies will be developed annually.

The mission statement of the strategic plan is ‘To collaborate, protect, improve and provide proper care and support for the well being of orphans & vulnerable children with respect to gender with the involvement of the community and networking with other organizations for self reliance. The mission statement is supported by eight specific objectives as outlined in the plan below. To ensure the provision of quality and comprehensive care and support to orphans and vulnerable children. To provide financial and material support to vulnerable elderly people (caregivers and elderly people). To promote and advocate to government to scale up the welfare assistance for elderly people. To improve access to information and utilization of quality VCT, Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT)/SRH/MNCH services. To improve the quality of life of HIV infected children and their families through the provision of community home based care and referring clients to other service providers within the district. To facilitate access to health care for children with disabilities (CWDs). To strengthen the organizational and technical capacity of MMC to respond more sustainably and effectively to HIV/AIDS. To improve the institutional and policy environment for community led responses in Zambia.
